In order to make managing the various subversion repositories Norganna's AddOns host and to make room for future Gatherer related AddOns and modules, Gatherer's files have been moved out of the trunk folder into a new trunk/Gatherer folder.

If you are currently tracking the SVN version of Gatherer, you may well notice that the files move the next time you do an update.

Norg, I hope I'm overlooking something, but I don't find a svn tool that makes it possible to sync a directory with more than one server, because I like to sync directly in my Interface/Addons dir. Do you know such a tool, so that I don't have to move folders around to have Libs, Auc and Gatherer up to date??? (I'm currently using Turtoise SVN)

    Thanks in Advance

there is no SVN tool to do what you want, I don't think.

If you run your own SVN server (or have access to one), you could set up a new repository which includes both auc and libs (and gatherer) as externals, then update your SVN through that personal site, which will bring all of them together.

Otherwise, your alternative is to check the lib files out into a different directory, move them into your addons folder manually, then manually just right click on each to update at your leisure. This should only be required periodically, as they do not/should not change that often.

Well, as you may well know, I do most of my coding on my Mac, but I also run a high end PC for my main games machine, and what I do with my PC is, I check out my gatherer/trunk, auctioneer/trunk and libs/trunk files into three seperate folders in my C:\Checkout folder.

I then go and install this program: NtfsLink
It allows you to manage NTFS junction points via your shell. (Explorer for you non-unix-heads)

Ok, now you go through the obligatory reboot, since you just installed new software.

Aaaaaaannnnnd, now that you've finally rebooted, open up 2 copies of Explorer, one at C:\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns, and the other at C:\Checkout\AuctioneerTrunk

Select the files you want to create junction points for from the C:\Checkout\AuctioneerTrunk\ folder, then right-click-drag them into the C:\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns folder.

If you've done everything correctly, you should now see multiple "Link to ..." files in your AddOns folder, which you'll need to manually rename. (There is an option in the NtfsLink config app to turn off this "Link to" prefix, but I've never been able to get it to work properly)

Repeat this process with the other folders, and then boot up WoW to test that it all worked.

btw, i downloaded and tried ntfslink, and it is working great. thanks for the pointer to it.

i too had problems with the "link to" option not being followed, but I set and unset it, and rebooted a second time, and it seems to work properly now. maybe it's still intermittent though, I'm not sure.

I also had a problem where creating or unlinking a link was taking WAY too long, like a minute per operation. rebooting fixed that too.
